I have been studying guitar with Alan for several years and he is nothing short of being a stellar teacher. His assets lie in his approach to teaching and his knowledge of music. He acknowledges my achievements and carefully considers what would help me move ahead. My son takes ukulele lessons from Alan and has been for over a year! I cannot speak highly enough about his teaching style with kids! My son started lessons when he was 5 and Alan did an excellent job connecting with him, creating developmentally appropriate activities, motivating him to practice, and building confidence in his progress. We’ve moved to online lessons now and I am impressed with how he teaches virtually! I absolutely love the sound of my son singing and playing the ukulele around the house!

Alan has been teaching my daughter, Olivia piano for almost a year now. Olivia loves piano and Alan has been wonderful in his instruction to her. He’s also been very flexible and accommodating to our family. We can’t recommend Alan enough! He even sent Olivia a Happy Birthday jingle along with his band on Olivia’s birthday (as per her request). She lit up when she saw it & was elated that he remembered.

Alan has been teaching my 7 year old son guitar for almost a year. Not only has my son made incredible progress in his understanding of music and the instrument, he also has developed a great relationship with a patient, caring adult! We started in person but have been doing online lessons for the past six weeks or so due to social distancing, and the transition has been really smooth. I didn’t realize how successful online music lessons could be, so I’m pleasantly surprised to see my son continuing to progress. I highly recommend Alan as a music teacher.

His knowledge, interest in his students’ goals, and ability to listen enable him to teach any student, from beginner to advanced musician. After many years of playing rhythm and basic fingerstyle guitar, I am learning to solo and improvise with Alan. Alan does piano lessons for our two sons, aged 6 and 8 now. We have been doing this for almost 2 years and the progress is amazing, the boys are still committed to it, and Alan shows patience and persistence to help the boys achieve. Al has been teaching my boys (13 and 14 yo) for over 5 years. They have been instructed in guitar, ukulele, djembe and voice. Al is patient, and always encouraging them to better themselves, inside and outside of the music studio. The boys are so comfortable with him and it allows them to freely express themselves. I began taking acoustic guitar lessons with Alan over a year ago. I was a total newbie to the instrument. Alan taught me great structure and discipline that are so important with learning the fundamentals of guitar More importantly he helped me enjoy making music and having fun that’s what we all want as end result I would highly recommend Alan for all age groups for instruction He has incredible patients and he will get you on the fast track to playing guitar and enjoying it
